Level 2 Naturalist Training is a 7-hour field excursion into the interior of the Island that expands on the lessons learned in Level 1 Naturalist Training. Students will explore the geology, botany and hydrology of the Island, visit prehistoric and historic cultural sites, and gain insight into the current land management work being done by the Conservancy, while working through a course workbook with Conservancy Education Staff.

The training is on Catalina Island from 8:00am-3:00pm, departing and returning from the Trailhead Visitor Center (708 Crescent Ave). Attendees will need to provide their own boat fare to and from the Island. Lunch will be available for purchase at the Airport in the Sky DC-3 Grill. Less than a mile of easy/moderate hiking is included throughout the day. Prepare for day in the field, with water, snacks, layers, good shoes, and sun protection.

Please e-mail the instructor, Hillary Holt at to confirm your registration for the course once you have finished payment.
